Dear Heavenly Father,
Let him know he is loved. Whatever may come his way, Lord, may he be reminded of all of those who care for him deeply.
I never want him to feel alone, or unworthy, or tossed aside.
May he feel your warmth as you touch him. Let him recognize it is you, and feel safe.
Whatever demons he is listening to inside his head, may they never take away the power love has. The power my love has for him and his ability to love others.
Please allow him to feel. Whatever he is feeling, let him feel my love.
Lord, I don’t even know what to say. I don’t know why he is behaving, the way he is behaving. But please don’t let it be because he feels unloved.
It is your love that brought us into existence. Please let it also be what keeps us going.
So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. – 1 John 4:16
May the reverse be true, as well. Abide in him, Lord. Abide in him so he forever feels your love. Especially if it’s for the first time. May it become something he craves and searches for.
For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. – Romans 8:38-39
Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows. – Luke 12:7
Your steadfast love, O Lord, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds. – Psalm 36:5
I know you are faithful. I will continue to rest in your faithfulness, until this dark time is through.
I am reminded that tomorrow, your son rose, but today was still very, very dark. I can rest, knowing tomorrow he rises.
May there be a day in my son’s future, that he rises from his darkness as too.
In your son’s holy and loving name. Amen.
